Electric and Hybrid cars were featured at this week’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Michigan is offering major tax incentives for companies to manufacture Electric and Hybrida Cars and the advanced batteries required for the cars. Battery Factories are making plans to establish a presence in Michigan instead of Asia where many now reside. The Boston Consulting Group notes that batteries could be a $25 Billion market in Japan, the United States, China and Western Europe by 2020.

Consumers will make the final vote on Electric and Hybrid cars by their purchases which cost several thousand dollars more than gasoline-powered vehicles. In contrast to 2009, this year’s Detroit Auto Show seems more positive with a distinct vision for the future.
